The overall winner of this year’s Quran Memorization competition, Ustaz Saeed Zakariyyah has urged Muslims to endeavour to memorise the whole Quran perfectly as it is very easy to achieve but only requires commitment, efforts and serious concentration. Also, Nigerians have been urged to allow competent Nigerians who understand, memorize and execute the teachings of the holy Quran to rule the country in the next election for truthfulness, honesty and integrity to be retained in the country.

This was disclosed by the President, Morkaz Dawatu Ila llah, Ustaz Qomordeen Ajala during the second annual national Quran memorization competition which took place at MITV Radiovision Plaza, Alausa-Ikeja, Lagos recently.

Over 100 contestants from all parts of the country took part.

Various gift items including Hajj ticket and cash of N300,000 and N200,000 were given to winners of the first, second and third category of the competition respectively.

These are those who have memorized some portion of the holy Quran and the whole Quran.

First prize winners for the three categories were Ustaz Saeed Zakariyyah, Afuwape Ibrahim and Muhammad Abdur-Razaq.

Ustaz Ajala urged parents to encourage their children to memorize the Holy Quran at a tender age stressing that any knowledge acquired while young is like an indelible mark written on a rock which cannot be rubbed off.

He stressed the fact that children who learn Quran early in life are usually God-conscious.

The President of the organization who also doubles as the presenter of a television programme called Wole Ola commended the efforts of Nigerian Muslims who have trained their children to memorize the Holy Quran and are competent enough to withstand the challenges of the competition.

According to him, there is no how Nigerians can have good governance without having good people who are Godconscious with sound knowledge of the words of God. “I want to appeal to everyone to exercise prudence on the forth coming General Elections in April”.
